Docketz.com is a free online legal research tool for your state. We publish lower court decisions at the state level – the hard to find trial court decisions, the family court decisions, and so on. To do this, we rely on you to keep on feeding this public information to us, so the court system can be more transparent, and so pro se litigants will have access to justice.

Timeline:
- 2007: Founder Chris Buck, a New Hampshire law student and law clerk for Douglas, Leonard & Garvey law firm in Concord, NH, begins development on an open-sourced platform to publish state judicial opinions. At the time, the documents available on the State’s website are sparse, are not searchable, and are only being generated from the State Supreme Court, nothing from the superior courts and district courts.
- 2008: Development of NHCaseLaw.com (no longer operating) is finished. Site is launched and gathers an impressive list of NH attorneys, legislators, and citizens. Value added is ability to search any document content by keyword and/or topic. While there are other free legal resources, there are none that are specifically for citizens, that focus on the lower courts of the state, and are also free.
- June, 2008: NHCaseLaw.com officially becomes the largest online database of judicial opinions from New Hampshire’s superior courts, thanks to the substantial help of Douglas, Leonard & Garvey.
- 2009: NHCaseLaw.com becomes Docketz.com.
- 2010: Docketz.com begins to build out the first socially oriented, multistate legal research tool. A single login works across all state subdomains, and new users can register with their Facebook credentials.
- 2011 and beyond: Docketz.com will become the largest online database for citizens to research judicial opinions from their states’ lower courts. The service will be free for citizens, and will be supported by advertising revenue and “freemium” accounts for attorneys. Docketz.com will simplify and demystify the legal research process, so that all citizens have access to justice.
